Websites for small businesses

Your website is your front door

We build them from scratch and we rebuild bad ones. Either way you get a site that works on a phone, looks current, and actually asks people to call — for a flat price you know before we start.

  • Flat price, quoted up front
  • You own everything
  • Built in 1–2 weeks
  • Plain talk, no jargon

What's usually wrong

Some of these are why people call us for a rebuild. The rest are why people call us for their first site.

01 / no site

You're only on Facebook

A business page is somebody else's platform, and half your customers won't have an account. You need an address that belongs to you.

02 / phone

It doesn't work on a phone

Most people find you on their phone in a parking lot. If they have to pinch and zoom to find your number, they call somebody else.

03 / trust

It looks abandoned or bare

Old photos, a copyright date from three presidents ago, hours that aren't true anymore. Or it's just a name, a phone number, and a stock photo — nowhere near what the same business could look like in the right hands.

04 / action

It doesn't ask for anything

No quote form, no booking, no obvious next step. A site that only describes you isn't working for you.

05 / search

Nobody can find you

No Google listing, no service area, no reviews pulled in. You're invisible to the person searching for exactly what you sell.

06 / stuck

You can't change a thing on it

Built years ago by somebody who stopped answering. Your hours are wrong and there's nothing you can do about it.

Why we started

We tried it on ourselves first.

Aidan's day job is his family's industrial coatings company. Their site was a stack of gray tables and links labeled "MSDS," and he spent every week answering the same questions by phone. So he rebuilt it, and the site started doing the first half of the sales job for him. Buyers showed up already knowing what they wanted.

Then he did the same thing for his college fraternity chapter. Donations went up. Recruitment went up.

That's the whole reason Ram Code exists. Every small business around here is sitting on the same problem those two were, and most of them don't know it's fixable.

He redid the whole thing without asking me. Turned out great. Customers get on there and figure out what they need before they ever call.

JFB Hart Coatings — Aidan's family coatings company

The rebuild that started Ram Code

Aidan rebuilt his own family's coatings site, and it worked so well it turned into a business. The old one was a wall of gray tables and links. We rebuilt it around what buyers actually need: product pages with sheens and part numbers, side-by-side comparisons, industry and case-study pages, downloadable tech and safety data sheets, and a quote form on every screen.

Application and testing videos were the piece that changed conversations. Buyers could watch the product go down and see how it held up, so they knew exactly what they were buying and how to use it before anyone picked up the phone.

It also gave him somewhere to point people. On a call he can say go look at the testing, the literature, the case studies. That gets them on the site, and once they're there they can see everything they want at their own pace. Everything is organized, consistent, and professional, so every prospect sees the company at its best.

  • Video and case studies
  • PDF data sheets in one click
  • Quote form on every page
  • Questions answered before the first call
  • Customers call already knowing what they want
  • A polished place to send every prospect

Look around the live site

A college fraternity chapter

A chapter site built for recruitment and giving

Before, everything lived in a group chat and a national page nobody visited. Recruits had no way to picture the house, parents had no way to check it out, and alumni had no way to give without tracking somebody down.

We built one place that treats them as three separate audiences: a rush sign-up that goes straight to the recruitment chair, a parent FAQ covering cost, safety, and academics, alumni giving with a career board, sponsorship packages local businesses can buy for the chapter's philanthropy events, and a store for shirts and raffle tickets.

The weekly Wordle-style word game is the part that keeps them coming back. A new word every Monday, a shareable score, and a reason to open the site on a day when nothing else is happening. Officers change it in a minute.

  • Recruitment form
  • Online giving
  • Sponsor packages
  • Parent FAQ
  • Weekly word game
  • Designated chapter donations
  • Event calendar
  • Online store

Donations went up. Recruitment went up. The chapter got noticed. A site that treats parents, alumni, and recruits like three different audiences does more work in a semester than a hundred group-chat reminders.

“

We kept getting emails from people donating and wanting to join. This was huge for us.

Care plans

A website isn't a thing you finish. It's a thing you keep. This is the part most people don't think about until something breaks on a Friday night.

What we handle every month

  • Hosting and your domain renewal, set up and run by us
  • Automatic backups, so a bad update isn't a disaster
  • Security updates, handled for you
  • We keep an eye on it, so if it goes down we know before you do
  • Unlimited small changes: text, photos, hours, prices, menus, calendars and events, store items, staff, specials, contact info
  • Seasonal swaps: holiday hours, specials, new services
  • A person who answers when you text

What counts as small? Anything quick: swapping text or photos, updating hours, prices, or a menu, adding events to your calendar, changing items in your store, holiday hours, specials, staff changes. New pages or new features get a quick quote first, so there are no surprises.

$60 a month, hosting included. Cancel whenever. You keep the site.

Pricing

Every business is different, so the number is too. What doesn't change is how we get to it.

  • Flat price, not hourlyOne number for the whole project. It doesn't move unless you ask for something new.
  • Quoted before we startAfter a short call you get the price and the timeline in writing. No obligation.
  • Half up frontHalf to book the work, half when the site goes live.
  • Monthly care is separate$60 a month covers hosting, upkeep, and your changes. It's optional, and you can stop any time and keep everything.
  • Hosting without a planIf you skip the care plan, hosting is your responsibility.
  • 30 days of free fixesIf something breaks in the first 30 days after launch, we fix it. No charge, plan or no plan.
  • You own it allWe set up and run the hosting, but the domain and everything on the site are yours. If you ever leave us, the site goes with you.

What does a site cost?

It depends on how much site you need.

New sites from $500 · Refreshes from $300 · Care plans $60/month

A one-page refresh and a ten-page site with online booking aren't the same job. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll come back with a real number, usually within a day.

How it goes

Four steps, no mystery. You'll know the price before we write a line of code.

  1. Call

Fifteen minutes. What you do, who you're after, what's broken now.

  2. Quote

A flat price and a timeline in writing. Half up front, half at launch.

  3. Build

You see a working draft early and tell us what to change. We keep adjusting until you're happy with it.

  4. Launch

Live on your own domain, with 30 days of free fixes. Then we hand over the keys or stay on a care plan.

What we'll need from you

This is the part that decides whether it takes two weeks or two months.

  • Your logo, if you have one, in the best file you've got
  • Photos of your work, your building, your team. Phone photos are fine.
  • Services, hours, and service area
  • Who answers the form when it comes in
  • Login to your domain, or we'll help you find it

Who you're working with

One person, not an agency. The person you talk to is the person doing the work.

Aidan, founder of Ram Code

Aidan

I grew up outside Chicago, went to school in western Kentucky, and I'm based in Memphis now. All three are full of small businesses where the owner wears every hat, and those are the people I built Ram Code for.

My day job is sales and marketing for JFB Hart Coatings, our family industrial coatings company, working alongside my grandfather. Cold calls, trade customers, spec sheets, and a lot of learning about what actually makes an owner pick up the phone. I rebuilt that company's website myself, it changed how our customers buy, and that's how Ram Code started.

My background isn't computers. It's business, and talking with customers. So you won't get computer talk from me.

What you get from me is plain talk. I'll tell you if you don't need a new site. I'll tell you what it costs before you have to ask twice. And I'll write the words on your pages the way you'd actually say them, not the way a marketing company would.

How we work

honest

We'll talk you out of it

If a $20-a-month template would do the job, we'll say so. We'd rather lose a project than sell you something you don't need.

plain

No jargon, no runaround

No computer talk. If something technical matters to you, we'll explain it in plain English. You'll never get an invoice you weren't expecting or an email full of words you have to look up.

yours

You own everything

Your domain, your content, your site. We run the hosting, but we don't hold anybody's website hostage.

Questions we get

Can't I just use Squarespace or Wix myself?

You can. But when something goes wrong, you're usually stuck with a chatbot or a pile of help articles instead of a real person. The monthly bill creeps up with add-ons and upgrades you didn't know you needed. And the instructions are full of tech terms that assume you already know what they mean.

With us, you text a real person who knows your site. You get one flat price with no surprises. Everything gets explained in plain English, and we do the writing, the photos, the setup, and the fixing for you. If doing it yourself really is the better fit, we'll tell you that on the call.

What does it cost?

New sites start at $500, refreshes at $300, and care plans are $60 a month. You get a flat price in writing before we start.

How long does it take?

Usually 1–2 weeks, and most of that is waiting on photos and information from you. We'll tell you exactly what we need up front so it doesn't drag.

Who owns the site and the domain?

You do. We set up the hosting and take care of it for you, but everything on it is yours: the domain, the words, the photos, the site itself. If you ever want to leave, it all goes with you.

What if I need changes later?

Small changes are included on a care plan. Without one, we bill by the change and tell you the cost before we do it.

Do you do logos, photos, or social media?

Logos and photos sometimes, depending on the project. Ongoing social media, no. We'll point you to somebody good.

Will I show up on Google?

We set the site up properly and get your Google Business Profile in order, which is most of what matters for a local business. Anybody promising you the top spot is guessing.

Do you work with businesses outside the area?

Yes, we'll help anyone, anywhere. If you're within driving distance of Memphis, we're happy to meet in person. Otherwise we'll work however suits you: a video call with your team, a phone call, email, or a text.

What if I already have a domain?

Good, keep it. We'll point it at the new site. If you've lost the login, we'll help you get it back.

Not sure what you need?

Answer two things and we'll tell you where to start.

Do you have a website now?

Who updates it after launch?
